Actress, screenwriter, and director Molly Gordon hosted an Incredible Dinner Party during the 63rd New York Film Festival as part of Doors Unlocked by InterContinental – a new global series of exclusive bookable packages designed to immerse guests in the world’s most celebrated cultural events.

The 29-year-old actress and resident New Yorker – currently starring opposite Jeremy Allen White in THE BEAR and recently seen in the Sony Pictures Classics feature Oh, Hi! – was joined by close family, film industry friends, and collaborators to celebrate the city where, in 2014, her pursuit to act professionally began, and 11 years later, where Molly will soon gear up to film her next feature in the tristate area.

Molly’s parents – twice Emmy nominated TV and film director Bryan Gordon, whose credits include The West Wing, Ally McBeal, One Tree Hill, and Curb Your Enthusiasm; and Jessie Nelson, producer, writer and director recognized for Corrina Corrina, I Am Sam, and Little Voice – were amongst the intimate group gathered in the Harold S. Vanderbilt Penthouse at InterContinental New York Barclay as Molly gears up to film her next feature in the tri-state area.

Host, Molly Gordon, said: “As a child who grew up surrounded by cinema, to me, film, family, and food are one. Both creatively and personally, New York is a vibe – somewhere that always feels like a movie set, a character in so many stories. Partnering with InterContinental this year has brought us together in such a thoughtful and beautifully curated way, inspired by the city that holds such sentimentality for us all.”

Molly Gordon represents one of six global tastemakers chosen to co-curate Doors Unlocked by InterContinental experiences. The calendar of bookable packages is designed to bring guests closer to the heart of each destination’s unique spirit and to celebrate InterContinental’s expertise and connections to secure insider access.

Molly adds: “I’m someone who loves to get lost in a city, wandering at my own pace and discovering spots that only locals know. I love to set out without a plan and see where the city takes me. The shared knowledge of the InterContinental Concierge is a beautiful way of finding your own version of somewhere as you travel.”

From iconic guests to incredible destinations, InterContinental sets out to fascinate and intrigue, with an imaginative approach and a passion for celebration. This evening’s Incredible Dinner Party, coordinated by InterContinental, marked the crescendo of the 48-hour Doors Unlocked: New York experience, which took guests to center stage of the 63rd New York Film Festival with a VIP screening and Director’s Q&A with Mascha Schilinski.

The setting – framed by striking skyline views of the Chrysler Building – was adorned with thoughtful gestures curated by InterContinental and inspired by Molly’s beloved New York. Touches included a soundtrack of swinging Sinatra, reminiscent of the golden age of cinema, and a ‘Big Apple’ inspired dessert. Molly’s career came full circle earlier this summer when her latest film, Oh, Hi!, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival after initially screening at Sundance.

From film festivals to fashion weeks, design fairs, and more, the Doors Unlocked calendar will provide insider access to key cultural moments in Dubai, Phuket, Tokyo, and Sydney before the end of the year with unparalleled behind-the-scenes experiences, made possible by InterContinental.

Tom Rowntree, Vice President Global Luxury Brands at IHG, paid tribute to the almost 80-year legacy of InterContinental, which today has over 230 hotels in more than 70 countries. He said: “InterContinental opens doors to a world of fascination unlike any other. It is through the knowledge of our teams and the power of our insiders that we ensure our guests experience the full color of the destinations they are visiting. That’s what Doors Unlocked is all about – it’s a celebration of the unrivaled insider expertise of our Concierge and InterContinental’s role as a cultural connector for our guests. This is a sentiment which resonates as much today as it has ever done.”

The next Doors Unlocked package will be in Tokyo from the 27th to the 29th of October to celebrate the Tokyo International Film Festival, followed by exclusive packages in Dubai, Sydney, and Phuket. For more information and to book, visit www.intercontinental.com/doors-unlocked.
