Finnish design house Marimekko welcomed guests into its SoHo Flagship to celebrate the launch of the Laila Gohar for Marimekko collaboration. The whimsical capsule, created by New York–based creative force Laila Gohar, fuses Maija Isola’s iconic Marimekko stripes with Gohar’s free-spirited approach to the art of living.
Guests stepped into a dreamlike suite featuring a bed installation inspired by the brand’s larger-than-life presentation at Milan Design Week. Attendees enjoyed displays of pajamas stylish enough to wear beyond bedtime, sampled Finnish candy delicacies, and uncovered the hidden meanings of their dreams in live readings with dream analyst Athena Laz.
The Laila Gohar for Marimekko collaboration is inspired by all the things we do in bed and Laila’s maxim if it’s ironed, you can wear it out. The collection spans crisp cotton pajama sets, sleeping masks, bedding, ceramics, and vibrant home accents in vibrant stripe patters and hues of sky blues, citrus yellows, rich plum and berry reds.
