Banana Republic celebrated the launch of Banana Republic Archive’s first capsule, curated by stylist and longtime champion of the brand’s legacy, Marcus Allen, founder of The Society Archive, with an intimate gathering at the SoHo flagship store’s exclusive speakeasy. This capsule marks the launch of Banana Republic Archive, a newly launched destination offering a hand-curated selection of the brand’s best vintage pieces from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, featuring limited-edition drops and immersive storytelling.

The evening's guests included Marcus Allen, Richard Dickson, Meena Anvary, Tasmin Meyer Erșahih, Ella Emhoff, Gabrielle Richardson, DeVonn Charles Francis, Teya Kepila, Jordan Daniels, Diva Smith, Alicia Gutierrez, Jian DeLeon, Minty Mellon, Ian Bradley, Tina Zhang, Baylee Winkel, Raphael Diogo, Denny Balmaceda, Nick Johnson (Nick Throws a Fit), and more.

Attendees enjoyed music by DJ Tasmin Meyer Erșahih, and cocktails and light bites presented by local chef Jonah Reider, as they previewed the new vintage offering.

Banana Republic Archive capsule curated by Marcus Allen features 70 hand-selected vintage pieces, including standouts like a Yellow Raincoat from Banana Republic’s Spring/Summer 1992 campaign, a Cream Fisherman-Style Crewneck Sweater inspired by Kate Moss' 1992 campaign, and a Toggle Coat from 1989 with the original Banana Republic Safari Travel tag, among other styles. Beyond the exquisite curation, Allen brings a storyteller’s lens to the collection, framing garments as heirlooms that are rare, storied and timeless.

Now available at bananarepublic.gap.com and select stores, the capsule reflects Banana Republic’s commitment to authentic collaborations and cultural preservation.

As part of the brand’s commitment to celebrating heritage and discovery, Banana Republic will also host a special Strand pop-in at its SoHo flagship, opening September 23 and running for approximately one month. This installation coincides with the debut of Banana Republic Archive and the curated capsule by Marcus Allen, with both initiatives honoring Banana Republic’s heritage and the spirit of the modern explorer.

Curated around themes of travel, discovery, and geography, the pop-in will feature a selection of thoughtfully selected items that reflect the essence of exploration, alongside a mix of Strand’s signature branded products.

Timed to align with Strand’s 98th anniversary, the collaboration creates an immersive, nostalgic in-store experience that pays homage to the rich histories of both Banana Republic and Strand, while inviting customers to rediscover the joy of adventure.
