Mert Alas — world-renowned photographer and founder of SEVENTY ONE Gin — returned to the New York Fashion Week calendar with GIN À LA MODE.
Last season, his Valentine’s soirée at Eleven Madison Park was one of the most whispered-about moments of Fashion Week. This season, high above Soho, a stylised SEVENTY ONE penthouse atop The Manner became the setting: low light, crystalline glassware, and the slow ritual of the 71 Golden Martini.
Guests included Dakota Johnson, Salma Hayek, Robert Pattinson, Suki Waterhouse, Natasha Lyonne, Colman Domingo, FKA Twigs, Ariana DeBose, Kit Butler, Machine Gun Kelly, Stella Maxwell, Baz Luhrmann, Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls, Daria Strokous, Aweng Ade-Chuol, and more.
The room itself was the narrative — a meticulously curated constellation of Fashion Week’s most interesting figures. Fashion, film, music, and art collided in conversation, laughter, and long hours that slipped easily toward dawn. The classics were not merely poured, they were elaborated — reimagined through the genius of Simone Caporale, the award-winning bartender whose precision and flair gave each drink a sculptural quality.
“New York Fashion Week always feels like a rush of youth and diversity. It’s the city where I can land, call up old friends, and dive straight into the night. That fast, spontaneous beauty — every nationality, every energy mixing together — is what makes New York so special,” said Alas.
It was not a party. It was a gathering of nocturnal pleasures — and a reminder that in New York, the night can still be beautiful.
