Saks Fifth Avenue celebrated summer with an art-filled soiree hosted by Saks Global President & Chief Commercial Officer, Emily Essner. The intimate dinner party took place at The Watermill Center in the Hamptons with designers, friends of the brand and top clients. With a spotlight on the intersection of art and fashion, guests enjoyed intimate tours of the new exhibition ‘Upside Down Zebra’ during cocktail hour.
Guests included Sarah Catherine Hook, Brooke Shields, Grier Henchy, Rowan Henchy, Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Ashley Avignone, Charlotte Groeneveld, Elizabeth Kurpis, Evan Ross Katz, Jane Siskin, Joseph Altuzarra, Katie Lee Biegel, Laura Kim, Leyna Bloom, Serena Goh, Sophia Cohen, SouKeyna Diouf, Tanya Taylor, Tara Rudes Dann, Tinx, Tommy Dorfman, Romilly Newman, and more.
“As an iconic luxury retailer, we are a curator of creativity, culture and community, and tonight is a Saks Fifth Avenue celebration of the combination of these influences in a setting that embodies the spirit of summer,” said Essner. “Through experiences like this, we continue to inspire and foster meaningful relationships with our customers in a way that’s immersive to their modern lifestyles, and distinctly Saks Fifth Avenue.”
Chef Flynn McGarry curated a bespoke, multisensory culinary experience for the evening. Each course was inspired by artistic styles seen in the exhibition - including Minimalism, Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism - with dishes plated to reflect the essence of the art movement they represented. The tablescape was adorned with edible powders and paint brushes, inviting guests to express their creativity by artfully embellishing each course. This interactive element transformed each dish into a personalized work of art and celebrations of individual expression. Following dinner, guests circled around a fireside lounge nestled in the woods to enjoy s’mores and cocktails, further sparking additional creative discourse that extended to take-home gifts of edible culinary painting powder and paint brushes.
