The Art Students League hosted its annual Dream Ball, a celebration with costumes, cocktails, music, and dancing to raise money for its scholarship fund. Drag legend Murray Hill hosted the evening, attended by 500 guests, which took place throughout the League’s historic building on W 57th Street to celebrate the League’s 150th Anniversary.
The evening's guests included Jack Barrow, Olivia Cameron, Robin and Ronald Frank, Inga Glodowski, John Greenfield, Michael Hall, Murray Hill, Jack and Erica Howard Potter, Sandra Kamerman, John Kneapler, Miss Perfidia, Cassandra Rosebeetle, Eric Shiner, Stephen Weitzman, and many more.
The League’s Vanderbilt Gallery was transformed into a disco ballroom for LeRêve Rococo, the evening's dress code and theme, which kicked off with live music from Pete Davenport & Friends, as guests paraded down the historic hallways in full costume.
The League’s studios were transformed into immersive experiences: the Cabinet de Curiosités featured tarot card readings by Gereve, while Le Théâtre des Muses offered live sketches by Dane LaChiusa, and magic by Emma Olsen.
The acclaimed drag legend and TV personality Murray Hill returned to the League to host the costume parade and contest after handing out golden tickets to guests dressed for the Rococo theme. Prizes were awarded for the most creative looks, with the grand prize including a gift certificate provided by Dream Ball partner Nordstrom.
The evening featured performances by burlesque dancers Cassandra Rosebeetle and Jack Barrow, and icons of the drag scene, Miss Perfidia, Creep Suzette, Taylor Poore, and Ava Jean got everyone dancing to the music by DJ Reborn.
The bar’s menu showcased custom cocktails by Fort Hamilton, Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liquor, Fever-Tree, Jim Beam, and beer from Brooklyn Brewery.
