Derek Lam 10 Crosby made its NYFW debut with an intimate presentation held at the Crosby Street Hotel, marking a major milestone in the brand’s evolution and commitment to advanced contemporary fashion while setting the stage for an exciting chapter in the brand’s legacy.
New York notables, celebrities and industry insiders all came out to view the collection including Natalie Suarez, Dylana Suarez, Katya Tolstova, Jordan Rand, Vivian Tu, Sonia Tucker, Coco Schiffer, Greivy, and more.
The presentation showcased 21 looks created by Design Director, Yana Popov inspired by French New Wave Cinema and the brand's refined femininity.
The collection, titled Reflections in Time, marks a bold new direction for the brand, blending luxurious materials, sophisticated tailoring, and effortless style with an emphasis on versatility and wearability. Each piece encapsulates the ephemeral dream of early fall and pulls inspiration from French New Wave Film Last Year in Marienbad by Alain Resnais. A balance of refined takes on wardrobe heroes are complemented by emotional pieces that can be endlessly remixed and paired back to Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s Essential Styles.
Bold and enchanting floral prints are manipulated and distorted to bring an essence of refined femininity to the collection through the Derek Lam 10 Crosby lens. From first glance what looks to be a lace jacquard is a three-dimensional lace embroidered denim, defining the brands continuous play on feminine vs utility.
This season strikes a balance of a refined take on wardrobe heroes and emotional pieces that can be endlessly remixed and paired back to The Essentials. The brand’s Essentials are updated with utility styles rendered in satin and the iconic Robertsons in a rich bordeaux. Innovative takes on occasion forward dressing with pleated denim and mixed media dresses propel the collection.
