The Brandman Agency is growing and actively seeking a Senior Account Executive to support a number of high profile interior design, architecture and design-led hotel accounts in our New York office. This role will drive results and support strategy on behalf of our global clients as well as develop and maintain strong relationships with the media. Must possess a passion for design and encompass an intuitive, thoughtful approach. This candidate will have superior knowledge of the evolving media landscape and regularly contribute new ideas for placement opportunities. Responsibilities:
Supports daily activities for designated national and international interior design, architecture and hotel accounts
Understands and prioritizes the objectives of each client; anticipates needs in advanceWrites client collateral, which includes but is not limited to: project narratives, fact sheets, press releases, bios, media pitches
Brainstorms new, fresh story angles and proactively pitches them to relevant media
Develops and maintains solid relationships with journalists, bloggers and social media influencers
Stays up-to-date on social media trends to provide recommendations to client about how social media channels can best be used
Has a strong understanding and awareness of the influencing blogs and bloggers of the moment and the content belonging to each
Oversees preparation of meeting agendas, notes and reports
Assists with client relations through meetings, conference calls, events and general contact
Stays apprised of current industry news and trends
Maintains robust and proactive account activity, using current PR plan as a framework
Handles majority of all pitching for the client – including strategizing on larger scale editorial opportunities; continuously updating and monitoring status reports to ensure pitching efforts are on track
Researches potential partnership opportunities / arrange meetings with strategic partners (including, but not limited to, speaking engagement opportunities, brand endorsements, event hosting, etc.)
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, currently reside in the greater New York City area, and legally authorized to work in the United States
Minimum of 5+ years design/hospitality-related PR experience, with experience managing junior staff
Knowledge of current events, trade shows and trends, specifically relating to the interior design, architecture and hospitality industries
Ability to self-manage, show strong initiative, prioritize and decipher urgent items
Possesses an extreme attention to detail; is poised, solutions-oriented with a can-do attitude, creative, enjoys autonomy, and can work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communications skills with a strong attention to detail; proficient in AP style
Can develop and execute results-driven and creative PR plans
Ability to guide clients on strategy and articulate ideas to garner results
Established media and influencer contacts in the design, travel and lifestyle press and skills to develop new relationships
Proven track record pitching media and securing quality media results
The desire to network, grow with the agency and possess a love for design, travel & hospitality
Uses social media tools regularly and has experience integrating social media into public relations programs
Proficiency using TrendKite/Cision/Burrelles, news wires, MS applications
