TURNER, a national public relations firm specializing in tourism, hospitality, travel and outdoor/lifestyle brands, is seeking a senior account executive to join our travel team in our newly opened Miami office (fully bilingual applicants preferred, but all applicants with relevant experience will be considered). Working in concert with colleagues in Miami, New York City and Denver, this role will drive results as well as manage creative and innovative collaborations with a selection of Latin American and Caribbean-based clients.

-Contributes 60-70 percent of time to proactive media relations, consistently securing quality media placements on client’s behalf
-Develops and maintains strong relationships with national (U.S. and Canada) and local media (Miami/South Florida)
-Manages development and implementation of all PR strategic plan initiatives, under minimal supervision
-Serves as the day-to-day resource for media contacts and oversees development of client communications
-Understands and prioritizes the objectives of each client; anticipates needs in advance
-Understands social media and identifies ways to integrate digital elements into other communications strategies by keeping up-to-date with social and digital media trends
-Brainstorms strategic and impactful angles, initiatives and activities to enhance client programs
-Plans, implements and manages client media tours, local market visits and media familiarization tours, as needed
-May manage account executives, account coordinators, interns and administrative staff, as needed; and will set team priorities on a weekly and monthly basis
-4-5 years of communications experience in the travel and tourism and/or hospitality industries - agency experience preferred
-Solid writing skills with attention to detail; you can draft a pitch, write a compelling press release, and knock out backgrounders and fact sheets with ease
-A strong grasp on PR basics: editorial calendars, pitch calendars, media itineraries for FAMs, etc
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Hold established national travel and lifestyle media relationships, and the skills to develop new relationships using traditional and digital tools
-Experience working in, and managing, a team
-Ability to balance multiple clients, work on tight deadlines and have motivation for reaching personal and client goals
-Proficiency using Cision, TrendKite, news wire services and Microsoft Office applications
-Familiarity with industry-appropriate bloggers and digital media influencers
-Native level fluency in English and Spanish is a plus (written and spoken)
-Passion for the travel/tourism industry and the ability to spot emerging trends
-BA or BS in public relations, journalism, communications or related fields
-This job requires 10-30% of time traveling, including internationally (there is flexibility within your team to travel more/less depending on client needs).
