The James Collective offers integrated marketing communications for lifestyle brands that want a nimble, modern approach. Our passion is built on connecting the food + beverage, hospitality, wellness, and consumer lifestyle brands with whom we love to work to their audiences. We're looking for a new team member who wants to grow with us, is ready to roll up their sleeves, and feels passionately about storytelling via PR, marketing and social media.

We are seeking an account executive whose responsibilities will include:

- Execute client tactical programming, including media pitching, event planning + logistics, influencer relations, partnership management and general account support

- Develop and maintain media and industry relationships; pitch clients and bring new media ideas + opportunities to the agency

- Manage influencer relations and creative influencer engagement programs

- Draft creative, strategic content for marketing materials and media pitches, releases

- Create and manage social media campaigns, from content calendars development to creative + visual content creation, for select clients

- Assist in management of select events and strategic partnerships; identify potential new partnerships for outreach

- Research and build media lists, keep up to date with new media, and track media results

- Stay up to date on trends, events and media topics related to industries in which we work

- Participate in new business brainstorming, creative programming, and presentation preparation

- Partner with other AEs to manage social media engagement for the agency

- Partner with interns to manage general business + office administrative tasks as needed

Candidates will ONLY be considered if they have experience working in public relations, marketing, communications, or journalism either after college or in your college internships. Candidates also must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Lastly, we work in a hybrid setting, with an office in Sonoma (Wine Country), so we expect that candidates have transportation and the ability to reach Wine Country for in office days, client meetings and events as needed.

Location:

- We are remote-first, but are looking for candidates who are (or will be) located in the SF Bay Area with the ability to commute to wine country on average one day a week to meet with the internal team and attend client events. We have offices located in Sonoma, CA and Brooklyn, NY; this position is in the Bay Area.

Requirements:

- 1-3 years experience in PR and marketing; knowledge and experience in the food + wine, hospitality and lifestyle industries a plus

- College degree in a relevant field

- Results-oriented and ‘get the job done’ attitude

- Open-minded, outgoing and adaptable personality with a solid results-oriented work ethic

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Professional demeanor and a desire to collaborate

- Knowledge of design, social media and digital media measurement tools, including Cision or Muckrack, Canva, later/social media posting applications, and Microsoft Office/PDF

- Ability to work independently, partially remotely, and in a dynamic collaborative team

- Desire to work in a start-up environment, pursue personal interests and learnings that are in line with company goals and make your mark on a growing agency (and of course, have fun in the process!)
