Zapwater Communications is seeking to hire an Account Supervisor to work full-time at our Chicago office. Named one of the "Best Agencies to Work For" for two consecutive years by PRovoke Media, Zapwater is known for developing best in class strategies for travel, consumer, fashion/beauty/retail, real estate and design and hospitality clients. 

This newly appointed Account Supervisor will lead day-to-day operations and work as a senior client contact to execute strategic public relations programming. The individual should have the ability to effectively present information and response to questions from internal executives, media and clients. The overall objective of an Account Supervior is to ensure the flow of work product is accurate, timely and of the highest quality.

* Act as the senior engagement lead on one or more accounts

* Analyze, manage and be accountable for business and financial results as well as profitability at the account level

* Expand knowldge of social media, branding, digital communications as well as traditional public relations outlets

* Contribute to setting clients' strategic path as well as develop event concepts (both in-person and digital)

* Build client confidence in public relations program value as well as build relationships with client counterparts

* Work with the Account Director and Vice President to manage account dynamic, both internally and externally

* Pitch high-level media such as national business desks and broadcast outlets

* Attend client meetings, events, photo shoots, deskside appointment, client onboardings, familiarization trips, and on-air television appearances, as necessary

* Motivate, mentor and manage junior account staff including Senior Publicists, Publicists and Assistant Publicists

* Conduct weekly status meetings with Senior Publicists, Publicists and Assistant Publicists

* Collaborate with Account Director to develop a comprehensive knowledge of a client's specific business model as well as the greater industry so that problems and opportunities may be anticipated

* Drive organize growth and identify ongoing opportunities for existing client development

* Be aware of new business opportunities in your specific practice area as well as support the business development and sales promotional work in an effort to secure new clients

Requirements:

* 5-7 years of experience

* Previous agency experience strongly preferred

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing

* Extensive network of media relationships with print, online and broadcast media on a local, regional and national level

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Extensive experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word), along with tools like Muckrack, Cision, Klear and Meltwater to name a few

* Proven experience with mentoring and managing junior team members

* Positive attitude with a commitment to fostering a positive work culture and collaborative environment
