Our Agency is growing and is now actively seeking an Account Manager to support a number of high profile hospitality accounts in our New York office. This role will drive results and support strategy on behalf of our global clients as well as develop and maintain strong relationships with the media. Must possess a passion for travel and hospitality and encompass an intuitive, thoughtful approach. This candidate will have superior knowledge of the evolving media landscape and regularly contribute new ideas for placement opportunities. He/she will have the ability to negotiate and secure features, executive profiles, product placement and ongoing coverage on behalf of clients. The ideal candidate has 6-8 years of hospitality, lifestyle or travel PR agency or in-house experience.

Responsibilities:

- Supports daily activities for designated national and international travel and lifestyle accounts

- Understands and prioritizes the objectives of each client; anticipates needs in advance

- Writes client collateral, which includes but is not limited to: project narratives, fact sheets, press releases, bios, media pitches

- Brainstorms new, fresh story angles and proactively pitches them to relevant media

- Develops and maintains solid relationships with journalists, bloggers and social media influencers and has a strong awareness of the content belonging to each

- Stays up-to-date on social media trends to provide recommendations to client about how social media channels can best be used

- Oversees preparation of meeting agendas, notes and reportsAssists with client relations through meetings, conference calls, events and general contact

- Stays apprised of current industry news and trendsMaintains robust and proactive account activity, using current PR plan as a framework

- Directs majority of all pitching for the client – including strategizing on larger scale editorial opportunities; continuously updating and monitoring status reports to ensure pitching efforts are on track

- Independently manage several junior team members across accounts, under the direction of a Senior Manager Researches potential partnership opportunities / arranges meetings with strategic partners (including, but not limited to, speaking engagement opportunities, brand endorsements, event hosting, etc.)

Requirements:

Qualifications:

- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, currently reside in the greater New York City area, and legally authorized to work in the United States

- Minimum of 6+ years travel & hospitality-related PR experience, with experience managing junior staff

- Knowledge of current events, trade shows and trends, specifically relating to the hospitality industry

- Ability to self-manage, show strong initiative, prioritize and decipher urgent items

- Possesses an extreme attention to detail; is poised, solutions-oriented with a can-do attitude, creative, enjoys autonomy, and can work in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communications skills with a strong attention to detail

- Can develop and execute results-driven and creative PR plans

- Ability to guide clients on strategy and articulate ideas to garner results

- Established media and influencer contacts in the design, travel and lifestyle press and has the skills to cultivate new relationships

- Proven track record pitching media and securing quality media results

- The desire to network, grow with the agency and possess a love for travel & hospitality

- Uses social media tools regularly and has experience integrating social media into public relations programs

- Proficiency with MS Office and industry tools such as Meltwater, etc. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Keynote is a plus but not a requirement​
