Description:

We are looking for an Assistant Account Executive as a junior account team member for our LA team who serves as the backbone of the account, working closely with managers to provide support to clients. An AAE has a general understanding of the public relations agency business and objectives in support of the agency’s clients. An AAE will manage daily activities on accounts and may serve as the day-to-day contact for media and clients. An AAE will have their finger on the pulse,  proactively developing and fostering media relationships with a view to garner impressive placements in print, broadcast and online outlets spanning national, regional, and trade. 

AAEs must have strong writing skills with the ability to develop press releases, pitch materials and other written requests with minimal oversight. An AAE will require some oversight and guidance from senior team members and with ongoing training will require less edits and oversight on communications to the client and media.

AAEs display great time management and organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and handle the workload of several client accounts. An AAE must routinely meet deadlines and appropriately update more senior team leaders when deadlines may be at risk.

An AAE may be asked to travel to client locations, participate in press trips and attend client events as requested. An AAE must have a passion for travel and the hospitality industry and be proactive in reading and researching trends within the field. Knowledge of social media for use in client engagements is required.             

Requirements:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Support team members by handling daily account activities including client correspondence, answering media leads as well as writing and distributing pitches and press releases

- The ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, forever-changing environment

- Serve as day-to-day contact for media and clients

- Serve as a knowledgeable source for media contacts, creating and editing media lists on an ongoing and proactive basis

- Actively participate in client calls and ability to speak to team efforts and PR initiatives 

- Build understanding and knowledge of the clients’ businesses and their competitive environments

- Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships

- Prepare and distribute monthly account reports

- Prepare meeting agendas, notes, recaps, reports, etc.  

- Organize and attend events and client meetings when needed

- Manage Account Coordinators and interns, as necessary

- Assist with developing strategic and creative PR initiatives and annual PR plans

- Assist with research and development of new business presentations
