Description:

Victory Public Relations is seeking to hire a full time PR Director who will work closely with both our account and executive teams. The main priorities of this role are to set and manage priorities for the account team and to monitor their performance. This individual will also have the opportunity to help develop new client relationships by collaborating on the development of creative proposals.

The role of PR Director requires strong project management skills, the ability to think big for clients and VPR, exceptional interpersonal skills to develop client relationships, and the ability and passion to lead a team.

Day-to-day:

- Senior contact for client accounts

- Manage client service and agency performance

- Oversee PR campaigns including, but not limited to, all components of the public relations process: lead introductory strategy meetings, develop and oversee the execution of creative, goal-driven strategies, craft key materials (messaging documents, press releases, etc.), ensure effective and timely reporting

- Analyze campaign outcomes and interpret data

- Delegate and provide advice/direction to account team members

- Nurture and develop talent

- Provide strategic advice to client partners

- Manage superior service delivery and nurture client relationships

- Cultivate and maintain a wide network and establish credible contacts 

- Contribute ideas and concepts to support the winning of new client business and grow existing client accounts

Key responsibilities:

- Managing client relationships and building long-term partnerships with key client groups

- Providing feedback and dialogue with existing clients, and evaluating current and past projects

- Executing client roadmaps – ensuring that the strategy presented is both ambitious while also attainable and managing the account team regarding delivery and success 

- Taking ownership of VPR client accounts with a steady stream of new and creative ideas, driving the editorial strategy with content pitches, press alerts and new campaigns to fuel pitching and drive coverage of our clients amongst target media and influencers 

- Deepening relationships with key media members, influencers and industry leaders on behalf of VPR and its clients, and building new valuable relationships

- Overseeing the development of consistent and innovative brand messaging for VPR clients

- Providing senior leadership within the business

- Developing the account team along with other senior leaders

- Monitoring the industry and external climate to advice on strategy and positioning

- Managing PR crises and providing counsel to key leaders (internal and external) 

- Overseeing and refining the reporting process

- Assisting in securing new business opportunities and identifying growth opportunities within current client agreements

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline including marketing, communications or business is desirable but not essential. Experience may outweigh professional qualifications with employers looking for proven track records in a similar position

- Relevant experience

- At least seven years solid PR experience within a specific sector or industry relevant to the post

- A strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the press

- Excellent client handling

- Proven track record of successfully implementing PR campaigns for a range of clients

- Polished presenter and adept at explaining PR terms and outcomes to senior players

- A deep understanding and knowledge of the PR and communications sector

- Management experience of developing star performers and overseeing performance

- Experience in managing budgets

- Driven, ambitious and willing to contribute to the business

Hours:

- This is a full-time position that comes with competitive compensation and desirable perks

- Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

- While VPR supports a flexible and remote work environment, ideally this candidate will be able to work out of our Summit, NJ offices
