In this role, you will drive global brand awareness for Hourglass Cosmetics through strategic communications and media relations. Reporting into Director of Global Communications and Events, you'll oversee execution of global PR strategy, as well as manage our global agency partners, in orchestrating earned media coverage through opportunities that generate extensive press, elevate our positioning in the industry, and give us exposure to new audiences.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced public relations associate who is creative and agile, can manage concurrent assignments, and has the ability to self-prioritize their workload to achieve deadlines, all while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. This position is a hands-on role, which involves strategic thinking, diligent project management, and the ability to interpret and tailor communications for various groups of stakeholders globally.

What you do:

-Ensure Hourglass builds brand awareness and brand pillars through our communications and events

-Execute global press launch strategies for all new products including media outreach, launch events, makeup artist outreach, etc.

-Nurture and grow our community of media, VIPs and brand loyalists by fostering relationships, planning unique brand experiences, and securing valuable earned media coverage and content for the brand

-Develop and execute media relations alongside agency partners, including developing story ideas, pitching outlets, and placing continuous coverage for the brand and its products

-Filter and reply to all in-bound press inquiries

-Maintain strong working relationships with broadcast, print and online journalists

-Strategic planning and day-to-day management of external PR agencies, distributors, and local brand managers

-Assist with planning and execution of events, press days, launch parties, or any other activations.

-Collaborate with digital and social teams to optimize press placements across our channels

-Collaborate with retail marketing team to optimize press placements through our retail partners across the globe

-Analyze and act on press trends and opportunities

-Report on monthly press coverage and metrics, proving ROI on our campaigns

Requirements:

-5+ years of experience at an agency or in-house with working on beauty, fashion or lifestyle brands

-Must be an excellent communicator, natural networker, team player and highly-organized

-Strong personal relationships with beauty, fashion and lifestyle media outlets

-A creative storyteller with the ability to create fresh and compelling narratives that help define our brand positioning within the beauty landscape

-Analytical, with experience tracking and reporting on KPI's for press campaigns

-Adaptable, resourceful and forward thinking

-Global PR experience a plus

-Experience working at innovative, fast-paced startups or indie brands is a plus

-Must have a college degree
