Description:

A NY-based position, based at Spring Place New York (“SPNY”) responsible for generating and driving strategic, creative, informed and organized event, marketing and internal communications initiatives aimed at the Spring Place New York membership community. Playing a key role in supporting the ongoing creative evolution, relevance and innovation of the in-house members’ events program, helping to leverage relationships with powerful and influential creative entities to deliver brand defining events. Acting as a central point of contact to manage and coordinate the gathering and dissemination of information for all member-oriented communications as well as the design and creation process for all member facing marketing tools. Supervising and overseeing content capture and creation for newsletters, as well as the Spring Place website. Working on the implementation and execution of partnership and sponsorship deals that drive pop ups, experiences and offers that benefit Spring Place members.

Reports to: Director of Cultural Programming & Partnerships and the Director of Content Marketing, Spring Place.

Responsibilities:

-With guidance and support from the management team, conceive, plan and implement marketing and communications projects and initiatives for SPNY through a combination of member mail outs, tool creation, content, social posts, programming and other ways of creating brand / project awareness as required. 

-Be the point person for all distributed physical and digital collateral used across SPNY, working with the content team to compose and distribute tools publicizing news, event programming and member-led content to members, including posters, digital collateral, newsletter templates and bespoke mail outs.

-Take personal responsibility for assembling and collating the monthly SPNY members newsletter, gathering together events, news, editorial and content, ensuring the final newsletter is approved and mailed out on deadline. 

-Through utilizing an extensive and varied personal network of creative contacts, contribute exclusive and innovative event concepts and opportunities to the monthly SPNY members’ cultural programming calendar, working with the membership team, committees and Spring Studios to secure name talent and major event coups.

-Ensure that each member’s event has a SPNY point person for hosting and delivery at the event itself, and when there is a limited guest list for members, the mechanic works smoothly.

-Working closely with appointed photographers and videographers, supervise and drive the creation of compelling and professionally delivered content (including the capturing and swift editing of still images and video footage from members events) for the Spring Place website and newsletter, ensuring material is on brand, up to date, and delivered against deadline(s).

-Work with the Spring digital team to optimize the Spring Place website, ensuring all content is current and is refreshed periodically. Take part in meetings to review website performance & be point of contact for website agency account manager. 

-Collaborate closely with the Spring creative & digital team based in New York, providing news, updates, content and offers for use in social feeds to assist with driving effective and compelling on-brand messaging.

-Assist with managing and overseeing the implementation and execution of partnerships with credible arts and cultural organizations, as well as key brand partners providing support on communicating major joint events, pop ups, promotions and initiatives at SPNY. 

-Support partnership activations through ideation, outreach, project & contracts management, and ensuring all points of partnership are executed. 

-Via an established corporate and commercial contacts book, and in conjunction with the Director of Cultural Programming & Partnerships, work with locally based brands to secure sponsorship revenue for in house programming, parties and other opportunities. 

-Working closely with senior management, negotiate and secure exclusive benefits for members with local partner companies delivering preferential rates, discounts and advantages (which form part of the membership offering).

-Keep a watchful eye on the marketing / communications and event activity of competitor members clubs, co-working spaces and arts organizations, informing the team when appropriate.

-Work with both Directors to ensure all SPNY marketing functions and activity are conceived and executed in order to deliver against established KPIs. 

-Compile and distribute weekly status reports on current and planned marketing activity, as well as providing support on presentations and decks as required.

-Take part in Marketing/Communications and events brainstorms to contribute ideas.

Requirements:

Person Profile: A charismatic, highly social, confident, customer facing marketing & communications professional with in-depth knowledge of the NY market place, community and key happenings; and proven experience driving multi-platform marketing/communications campaigns for a wide ranging breadth of different brands. Someone possessing an unrivaled set of personal contacts across the creative, entertainment and events industries, familiar with the landscape, neighborhoods and creative niches of the city. A brilliant communicator, gifted writer, natural relationship builder and skilled networker, familiar with managing agencies and driving below the line activity. Extensive experience working on and realizing quality creative events and a proven track record working with sponsors, affiliates and cultural partner organizations essential. A digital native with previous experience managing content and output for websites and social channels.
