The fashion world came together to honor the legendary Bob Mackie at an intimate luncheon hosted by Janet Mandell. The event celebrated the Los Angeles cinematic release of "Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion," a documentary chronicling the life and career of the visionary costume designer. The film plays at the Laemmle Theater in North Hollywood from Nov 20-26.
Held at the Janet Mandell showroom in West Hollywood, the gathering featured a mix of fashion industry insiders and Mackie's closest friends. Notable guests included Bob Mackie, Law Roach, Bradley Kenneth, Jared Ellner, Cameron Silver, Joe McFate, Paul Chi, and Alessandra Codihina.
Janet Mandell, a long-time admirer of Mackie’s work, described the event as “a tribute to creativity, artistry, and the enduring legacy of a true fashion icon.” Guests enjoyed a chic menu, curated with precision and elegance, and shared stories about Mackie’s transformative impact on the industry.
The documentary Directed by filmmaker Matthew Miele, and produced by Quixotic Endeavors, offers a behind-the-scenes look at Mackie’s unparalleled career and is set to release globally on a streaming platform this December.
